The Dymax Site Rite II is a portable ultrasound imaging system designed to aid vein location during internal jugular vein cannulation. It is compared to the use of anatomical landmarks for internal jugular vein cannulation. It is easy to use and give good quality images, increases the speed of cannulation, decreases the number of attempts to locate the internal jugular vein and reduce the failure rate, although it has no effect on the incidence of carotid artery puncture.
