Polaris Q-Switched Ruby Laser – Tattoo Removal
The Polaris Q-Switched Ruby Laser remains one of the best lasers for removal of tattoos and pigmented lesions. With it’s set of different handpieces for a variety of spot sizes that make Ruby Laser treatments quicker and more effective. The Polaris Q-Switched Ruby Laser produces pulses of energy that are very short but high in energy.
Tattoos can now be efficiently removed in a safe and controlled way by using ruby laser technology. The beauty of this tattoo removal machine that using a Laser what does not break the skin. As a result there is no scarring after application.
There are two main Lasers commercially used for Tattoo removal are either a Q-switched Nd:Yag 1064nm, which can be frequency doubled to give 532 nm or a Q-switched Ruby laser 694nm. Q-switched Yag lasers work faster than Ruby typically at 1 – 10 Hz compared with 1 or 2 Hz for Ruby. However although the increased speed of the Yag may seem to be appealing, it is more important to consider that generally the skin cannot deal with the energy generated heat at higher delivery speeds than 3 Hz.
Note that a tattoo treated solely with a Yag laser (not Ruby) at a high repetition rate can leave a raised area where the tattoo was originally. This is caused by excessive heat put into the skin by the laser. A Q-switched Ruby laser does not create this kind of problem due to the reduced speed of the treatment. Likelihood the chance to overheat the skin is less, along with the potential of double spotting and large overlaps.
The light emitted from the laser at 694 nm is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo but not the surrounding skin. The ruby laser heats up the pigments and breaks down into smaller particles that the body can dispose of naturally. Get your Polaris Ruby Laser today at the Dr’s Toy Store.
